What Is Truffle Food?
Truffle food brings the distinctive aroma and savoury character of black truffle into convenient products that are easy to use at home.
Instead of needing fresh truffle for every dish, our range includes truffle seasoning, honey, pesto, pasta, oil, mustard, crisps, and other gourmet specialities designed to add truffle flavour to everyday cooking, entertaining, and gifts.
For more about the fresh ingredient itself, its Hungarian provenance and how truffles are harvested, explore our black truffle collection.
Made with Real Hungarian Black Truffle
The Monika’s Kitchen range is developed around real Hungarian black truffle, sourced through specialist producers with direct relationships to truffle hunters working in the oak-rich woodlands of the Hungarian Great Plain.
The aim is not simply to create strongly flavoured products, but to keep the earthy aroma and savoury character of genuine truffle recognisable within each recipe.
This allows customers to enjoy truffle mushroom in forms suited to different dishes, from a light dusting of seasoning to a complete pasta dish or a sweet-and-savoury cheese pairing.
Personally Developed for Monika’s Kitchen
Founder Monika Gyenes wanted black truffle to form an important part of the Monika’s Kitchen gourmet range and works with specialist producers to select and refine the products.
As a keen home cook, Monika focuses on recipes that make truffle easier to use at home. Products are tasted and developed with particular attention to balance, so the truffle remains noticeable without overwhelming the food it accompanies.
The result is a range designed for both experienced truffle lovers and customers discovering the ingredient for the first time.
Truffle Seasoning
Truffle Seasoning is one of the easiest ways to add truffle character to a finished dish.
Sprinkle a small amount over scrambled eggs, omelettes, fries, popcorn, roasted vegetables, steak, pizza, or mushroom risotto for a versatile addition to the spice cupboard.
It is particularly useful when you want precise control over truffle flavour without changing the dish's texture.
Truffle Pesto, Sauces & Mustard
Truffle Pesto provides a richer, more savoury way to use truffle and works particularly well stirred through pasta, risotto or mashed potato, or served with meat and canapés.
Truffle mustard and other savoury condiments can be used in sandwiches, dressings, sauces and marinades, where their earthy flavour adds depth without requiring a separate truffle garnish.
Truffle Honey for Cheese
Truffle Honey combines the floral sweetness of honey with the earthy aroma of black truffle, creating a particularly effective sweet-and-savoury pairing.
Drizzle it over Brie, Camembert, goat’s cheese, blue cheese or mature hard cheeses, or use a small amount on canapés and charcuterie boards.
It is one of the easiest truffle products to serve when entertaining because it requires no cooking and creates an immediate contrast between sweetness, salt and umami.
Truffle Pasta
Truffle Pasta is made with free-range eggs and black truffle, giving the pasta a naturally savoury aroma before you add any sauce.
Because the truffle is already incorporated into the pasta, simple accompaniments work best. Butter, cream, Parmesan, or a light mushroom sauce lets the pasta's flavour shine.
Truffle Oil
Use truffle oil as a finishing ingredient rather than a cooking oil. A small drizzle of the truffle-infused extra-virgin olive oil can add aroma to pasta, risotto, mashed potatoes, pizza, eggs or roasted vegetables.
Using it after cooking helps preserve the aromatic character that makes truffle products distinctive.
Truffle Crisps & Gourmet Snacks
Truffle Crisps offer an easy introduction to truffle flavour in a familiar format.
Serve them as a snack with drinks, add them to a cheese or charcuterie board, or use them for entertaining when you want a simple savoury option with a more distinctive flavour.
Cooking with Truffle
Truffle generally works best with simple ingredients that let its aroma take centre stage.
Eggs, potatoes, pasta, rice, mushrooms, cream, butter and cheese are particularly good partners because their mild or rich flavours provide a natural base for truffle.
Start with a small amount and add more to taste. Truffle products are aromatic, so a little can often be enough to change the character of an entire dish.
Truffle Food for Entertaining & Gifts
Truffle products also make great gourmet food gifts, offering an easy-to-use luxury ingredient without specialist preparation skills.
Truffle honey, seasoning, pesto, pasta and snacks can be used individually or combined into a tasting selection for food lovers, home cooks and truffle lovers.
