Monika Gyenes is the founder of Best of Hungary and the Monika's Kitchen brand.
Her passion for food provenance began in her childhood in Hungary's rural fields during the 1960s. Following her father's example as a local veterinarian, she learned to respect the land and the people who cultivate it.

Though she is a keen amateur cook and was offered the opportunity by her aunt to open her own restaurant, Monika chose to dedicate her career to her patients while promoting public health and healthy eating.
Before retiring from her professional career, Monika established Best of Hungary with her son Zoltan, creating a family food business based in the picturesque seaside town of Aberystwyth, West Wales, UK.

This family business imports the finest quality Hungarian produce, offering a wide range of pantry staples. Their products include premium paprika powder—a must-have for any spice cupboard—raw honey directly from the bee hives, gourmet foods like black truffles and caviar, and fine wines such as the legendary Tokaj.
They emphasise full traceability from farm to fork, and their exclusive portfolio
has received repeated recognition at the Great Taste Awards, often referred to
as the Oscars of the food world.

Monika enjoys building cultural bridges through food and shared experiences between her native Hungary and her adopted home in the United Kingdom.
In her spare time, she likes to update recipes from her mother's cherished cookbook and take walks along Ynyslas beach with her enthusiastic Cavachon, Belami.
