At Best of Hungary, we strive to offer you a first-class customer experience. We always aim to deliver your order speedily and in perfect condition so that you can enjoy your Hungarian goodies from the comfort of your home.

What are your delivery costs?

We offer free UK delivery on orders over £60.

The cost of delivery for all orders under £60 is £2.95.

We ship orders using Royal Mail Tracked 24, which will take 1-2 days.

We post parcels from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), and we offer same-day dispatch when you order before 11:00 am.

Deliveries to certain UK postcodes, including the Scottish Highlands & Islands as well as Northern Ireland, may take an additional couple of days.

*Please note that due to Brexit, we can no longer ship to the Channel Islands and do not ship outside the United Kingdom.

How can I track my order?

As soon as we ship your parcel you will receive a confirmation email with your Royal Mail tracking number. You will be able to track your order by clicking on the link in the email, or by entering your tracking number here: https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item#/

How will you pack my order?

If your order contains chilled products, our diligent warehouse team, led by Abe and Chris, will pack them using refrigerated cold packs in thermal insulated packaging, which maintains suitable transit conditions for 48-72 hours.

Depending on the size of your order and choice of products, there may be occasions when we need to ship your order as two or more separate parcels, which may arrive at different times.

Will you let me know when my order has been sent?

You will receive a confirmation email once we have shipped your order, including tracking information. If you also wish to be notified by text about the status of your delivery, please include your mobile phone number at Checkout.

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure you are available to receive your order on the delivery date provided. If you are expecting perishable items, we strongly advise that you track your order regularly to know when it is due.

If your order is a gift, it is your responsibility to notify the recipient of the order's arrival time.

Please note we cannot take responsibility for any perishable items that have been left to deteriorate for any length of time due to the absence of the addressee. We cannot accept responsibility for orders returned by our delivery partners due to the addressee's absence. In these circumstances, no refund will be offered.

My order contains alcohol, are there any restrictions?

We only sell alcohol to those who are aged 18 and over. By placing an order with us, you confirm that you are of legal age. It is illegal to buy alcohol if you are underage or for someone else who is under the age of 18.

What if my order arrives and something is damaged?

In the unlikely event that any of your products arrive damaged, please contact us by email at info@bestofhungary.co.uk with an image of the damaged product and your Order Number. We will offer to re-send the affected item or a refund, with the funds deposited back onto the card used to place the order within 3-5 business days.

While we always try our very best to achieve our stated delivery times, things may occasionally go wrong. Please note we cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions and delivery partner difficulties.

Please note that deliveries may take longer than usual during busy periods such as the run-up to Christmas. If problems arise, please bear with us as we try to resolve any unforeseen issues.

We cannot accept any liability for any consequential loss, damage or expense caused by a failure in our service. This includes the cost of purchases made to replace an order that fails to arrive.

Environmentally Friendly Packaging & Delivery

We source our supplies from Kite Packaging, the UK's leading, employee-owned packaging supplier. We pack each item by hand, using a combination of paper wrap and inflatable bottle protectors. We use recyclable void-fill packaging and recyclable cardboard boxes containing recycled content, or we reuse the cardboard boxes sent to us by our suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint. All packing materials, except for cool packs and thermal insulated packaging, are recyclable.

We use Royal Mail for deliveries, consistently ranked as one of the most carbon-conscious couriers, with some of the lowest carbon footprints per package delivered.

Payment Terms

Full payment is required when you place your order. Your payment method will be charged immediately when you click "Place Order."

All prices are listed in GBP and include VAT where applicable, charged at the standard rate of 20%.

Payment Security

Your security is our priority. Our site is secured with SSL encryption, ensuring that your credit card information and personal details are protected during transmission.

Payment Authorisation and Refusal

We reserve the right to refuse any order. We may, at our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person or per order.

If your card issuer denies the payment, we will notify you to provide an alternative payment method; otherwise, your order will be cancelled.

What Payment Methods Do You Accept?

We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, American Express, Discover, Maestro, and Mastercard, as well as all debit cards.

You can pay online with your card or via platforms such as Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, or PayPal.

Can I Pay Over the Phone?

Yes, if you would like to place your order by phone, please call us at +44 (0)70 671 8730 between 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday to Friday, and we will process your order.

Do You Accept Bank Transfers?

If you would like to pay by bank transfer, please contact us using one of the methods listed at the bottom of this page. We will then send you an invoice that you can pay via bank transfer.

Do You Accept Cheque Payments?

At this time, we do not accept cheques. Please do not send a cheque with your order.

Are There Any Additional Charges or Fees?

No, there are no additional charges or hidden fees. The total you pay includes the price of the purchased products and any applicable delivery fees as outlined in our delivery policy.

Returns

Every item we sell is carefully inspected before it is shipped. It is Your responsibility to check Your order carefully, immediately on receipt of goods. In the event that any goods supplied are faulty, they will be replaced free of charge or your money refunded in full as long as the goods are returned to us when requested.

You have 30 calendar days from the date of your purchase to initiate a return. All returns must be received by us within 30 calendar days of order cancellation.

Provided that the faulty item is returned in its original packaging and the product has not been consumed other than is reasonable to establish the quality of the product we will refund the entire purchase price of the item including the original delivery cost (if this was the only item in your order) and the return postage cost at the standard postage rate for the weight of the goods being returned. We will not reimburse additional sums if you choose to return the item using a premium delivery service. This refund offer only applies if the goods are faulty not if they are simply not to your taste or not to your liking.

If your returned goods are not in the original packaging or consumed more than was reasonable to establish the quality of product, we reserve the right to levy a charge commensurate with that loss. No refund will be considered, where failure to deliver the goods was due to incorrect information being submitted on the original order.

Refunds for cancelled orders will be made within 1 calendar day from the date on which we safely receive the returned goods. Refunds will be to the card used for the original payment transaction. Depending on your payment card please allow up to 7 working days after we have processed your refund for the funds to appear on your payment card's account.

You will not be refunded for minor damage to the exterior packaging of the goods that you have order during transit (e.g. minor dents, scratches or tears in the packaging) when the contents are not compromised.

Refunds for unwanted goods will be made in accordance with our cancellation policy provided above. If You are returning the product because it is simply unwanted, the product must be returned both unopened and in original condition and we will only refund the cost of the product.

It is recommended that all returns are sent via recorded delivery as we cannot be held responsible if an item does not reach us. It is Your responsibility to return the goods safely to us at Your cost.

The cost of returning the goods to us will be borne by you, the customer including if you exercise your right to withdraw your purchase in the Cooling-Off Period as specified by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Until you return items to us you are responsible for their safe keeping and taking reasonable care of them. We do not accept liability for returned packages damaged during transit back to us. It is your responsibility to wrap products adequately to prevent damage. You are liable for any damage caused between receipt of the goods and their return to us. We will not accept returns of items that have been damaged in transit because they were incorrectly packaged by you, and we reserve the right to return such goods to you at your expense. It is recommended that all returns are sent via recorded delivery as we cannot be held responsible if an item does not reach us.
