Rice for Infants

Is rice safe for infants?

Rice is naturally gluten-free, easy to digest, and rarely triggers allergic reactions, making it an ideal first food for babies, typically starting around 6 months of age. Its mild flavour and smooth texture, when cooked and pureed, are perfect for tiny palates and can help babies develop their swallowing skills as they begin their journey into solid foods.

Rice provides essential carbohydrates for energy, along with protein and vitamins that support your baby's rapid growth and development. It also contains plenty of fibre, which is essential for healthy digestion.

Why choose organic, low-arsenic rice?

Rice naturally absorbs arsenic from the soil and water where it is cultivated. Babies are particularly vulnerable to even trace amounts of this contaminant due to their small body size and developing systems. Therefore, choosing low-arsenic rice for your infant is crucial.

Our certified organic rice is grown in the heart of Europe on the Hungarian Great Plain. The grains are specifically selected and tested to ensure minimal arsenic levels, making them suitable for use in baby food.

Cultivated under carefully monitored conditions and rigorously tested to meet strict safety standards, our rice has an arsenic content that is almost zero, whereas varieties from Asia can have levels as high as 0.25 mg/kg.

Additionally, toxic heavy metals like cadmium can pose risks, as they often leach into the water used to grow rice from fertilisers. However, the organic farming practices ensure that your baby is not exposed to these potentially harmful chemicals.
