What Is Organic White Rice?

Made from 100% certified organic medium-grain white rice, this versatile cupboard staple has a gently creamy texture and an enjoyable bite. It cooks more quickly than brown rice, making it an easy choice for classic side dishes and more elaborate meals alike.

This premium European white rice contains no additives, preservatives or artificial ingredients. It is naturally gluten-free, vegan, and certified Kosher and Halal.

How to Use Organic White Rice

Its soft texture and clean flavour make this organic white rice wonderfully adaptable. Serve it simply alongside your favourite dishes, or use it as the base of a satisfying meal.

How to Cook Organic White Rice

1. Rinse 75g of rice per person under cold running water.
2. Place in a saucepan with 175ml of water per portion and bring to the boil.
3. Cover and simmer gently for 10–12 minutes, or until tender.
4. Remove from the heat and leave to rest, covered, for five minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving.

Cook’s Tip

Rinsing removes excess surface starch and helps the cooked grains stay lighter and more separate. For extra flavour, cook the rice in vegetable or chicken stock instead of water, or add a bay leaf, cardamom pod or strip of lemon peel to the pan. A rice cooker also gives consistently good results.

Where Does It Come From?

Our Organic White Rice is grown by specialist producer Valoryz on the Hungarian Great Plain. Valoryz uses intermittent irrigation, also known as Alternate Wetting and Drying, rather than continuous flooding. This considered water-management approach is associated with lower arsenic uptake than permanently flooded rice paddies.

The rice is packed in Hungary, giving the product clear traceability from farm to finished pack. Monika selected it for its dependable cooking performance, soft texture and clean flavour.

White rice has had its bran layer removed, giving it a lighter flavour, softer texture and shorter cooking time than Organic Brown Rice, which retains its wholegrain bran layer.

The 1kg bag is made from recyclable paper, offering a practical, plastic-free way to keep a dependable organic rice close at hand.

Independently Tested Rice

The organic white rice used in this product has been independently tested by ISO/IEC 17025-accredited GALAB Laboratories in Germany. The tested sample recorded 0.078mg/kg inorganic arsenic; cadmium and lead were below the laboratory’s reporting limits.

This result is below the 0.10mg/kg maximum level for inorganic arsenic in rice intended for the production of baby foods for infants and young children. The analysis also found no pesticides detected in the sample and confirmed compliance with the EU requirements assessed.
