Bikavér - Bull's Blood Wine

What is Bull's Blood Wine?

Bikavér, meaning 'Bull's Blood' in Hungarian, is a classic dry red wine. Made only in the cool-climate wine region of Eger and the warm-climate region of Szekszárd in the south of the country. Egri Bikavér is typically elegant and high in acidity, while Szekszárdi Bikavér is bursting with red-fruit aromas accompanied by sweet barrel spices.

Bull's Blood can only be made by following strict guidelines, yet this traditional terroir wine serves as winemakers' ruby red signature, living up to its famous name. Today, winemakers blend local and international grape varieties to produce perfectly harmonious wines that reflect their own individual style and the terroir's characteristics.

The results are rich, fruity masterpieces with a tantalisingly complex mineral structure that expresses the qualities of both the land and the grapes.
