This full-bodied Egri Bikavér Superior, sourced from the award-winning St. Andrea winery's Hangács cru, is a remarkable example of a Hungarian Bull's Blood.
It boasts a deep ruby colour and presents a complex nose filled with the aromas of red and black cherries, complemented by hints of chocolate and coffee from the oak ageing.
On the palate, this wine is wonderfully soft and concentrated, featuring fresh fruit flavours, gentle spice, and a toasty finish. It strikes a balance with its firm acidic backbone and ripe tannins, making it perfect for immediate enjoyment while also offering excellent ageing potential.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with steak tartare, grilled meats, and semi-hard cheeses such as a Gouda-style ash cheese. It also complements rich mushroom dishes and spicy Moroccan stews like a warming tajine.
