Merengő is the flagship red wine of the St. Andrea Winery, and this award-winning Egri Bikavér Superior is a powerful vintage made from their best barrels.
It has a deep ruby colour, and its attractive, rich aroma features blackcurrant, blackberry, and forest berries, complemented by hints of forest soil and floral notes. This wine is mouth-filling, with well-integrated tannins and acidity, leading to a long finish characterised by a compelling volcanic and chalky minerality.
Food Pairing
The wine’s intense character pairs well with meaty dishes, such as traditional Hunter's stew. Additionally, its fruity palate complements noodles and Gouda-style semi-hard cheeses like a caraway cheese.
