How to Use a Caviar Serving Set
For the best presentation, prepare the bowl shortly before serving and keep the caviar chilled until the last moment.
- Place the empty glass bowl in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes before serving.
- Fill the outer bowl with crushed or shaved ice, then place the upper glass cone securely over the ice.
- Spoon the caviar into the upper cone, creating a chilled, elegant centrepiece for the table.
- Arrange warm blinis, crème fraîche, chopped chives and halved quail eggs on the mother-of-pearl plate.
- Use the two mother-of-pearl spoons to serve the caviar neatly between guests.
A Simple Serving Tip
Mother of pearl is flavour-neutral, allowing the delicate, buttery and lightly saline character of fine roe to come through clearly. Serve our Siberian sturgeon caviar simply, with warm blinis and crème fraîche, then let guests build their own perfect bite.
Open the chilled tin using our caviar tin-opening key, and transfer only the amount you intend to serve. Keep any remaining caviar chilled in its original tin with the lid replaced.
The Glass Caviar Bowl
The two-piece glass caviar bowl measures 9cm high and 11cm in diameter. Its outer holder takes crushed ice, while the raised upper cone keeps the caviar cold without allowing it to sit directly on melting ice.
The upper cone holds up to 100g of caviar, making it ideal for a generous shared starter or an elegant dinner-party tasting. Chilling the bowl in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes before use helps it stay cold for longer; avoid putting it in the freezer, as sudden extreme temperature changes can stress fine glassware.
Natural Mother-of-Pearl Plate and Spoons
The set includes one handcrafted mother-of-pearl presentation plate and two matching mother-of-pearl spoons. The plate’s softly irregular shell shape, subtle iridescence and small variations in colour are part of its natural character.
Mother-of-pearl is traditionally used for caviar because it does not introduce a metallic note. The plate creates an elegant setting for accompaniments, while each spoon is ideal for a neat taste of roe or for adding a modest spoonful to blinis, egg or potato rösti.
The plate and spoons are made in Vietnam by Viet Craft, primarily in Thụy Ứng near Hanoi. The historic artisan village has worked with natural materials for more than 400 years and is especially known for its heritage of hand-carving horn, shell and other natural materials.

Care Instructions
Wash the glass bowl gently in warm, soapy water after use, then dry carefully with a soft cloth. Hand-wash the mother-of-pearl plate and spoons separately, then dry them straight away.
Do not soak the shell pieces, use harsh cleaning products or place any part of the set in a dishwasher. Store the dry mother-of-pearl plate and spoons carefully, ideally in a dedicated soft pouch, rather than loose with ordinary stainless-steel cutlery.
