Mother of pearl is prized for serving caviar because it is flavour-neutral. Unlike ordinary metal cutlery, it does not introduce a metallic note that can distract from the delicate brininess, buttery texture and clean finish of fine fish roe.

Each spoon is made in Vietnam by Viet Craft, primarily in Thụy Ứng near Hanoi. This historic artisan village has worked with natural materials for more than 400 years and is especially known for its heritage of hand-carving horn, shell and other natural materials.

Careful shaping and polishing turn each shell into a practical yet decorative caviar utensil. The natural variation in the material gives every spoon its own distinctive character.

Care Instructions
