A full raw acacia honeycomb frame, presented in a handcrafted artisan wooden gift box: a memorable centrepiece and ready-to-give food gift to share.

What Is a Honeycomb Frame in a Wooden Gift Box?

This is a complete wooden beehive frame filled with raw acacia honeycomb, left intact exactly as the bees made it. The frame is presented in a handsome wooden gift box, handcrafted by an artisan master carpenter to make an already remarkable food gift feel truly special.

Inside, the natural beeswax cells are filled and sealed with pale golden acacia honey. The bees gather nectar from black locust blossoms (Robinia pseudoacacia), commonly known as acacia, creating honey with a delicate floral aroma, gentle citrus notes and clean, lingering sweetness.

Nothing is extracted, blended or added. It is raw, unpasteurised honey at its most impressive: a magnificent centrepiece for a celebration, generous breakfast table or cheese board, and a distinctive gift for someone who appreciates genuine craftsmanship.

How to Serve a Whole Honeycomb Frame

Bring the gift box to the table, then unwrap the frame when you are ready to serve. Its generous size makes it particularly enjoyable when guests can cut or spoon out their own small portion of comb.

  • Cut small pieces with a clean knife and serve on warm sourdough, crumpets, toast, pancakes, porridge or Greek yoghurt.
  • Place pieces on a cheese board with Brie, Camembert or goat's cheese, walnuts and slices of pear or apple.
  • Serve with panna cotta, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or fresh berries for an effortless but impressive dessert.
  • Set the frame on a suitable stand for a breakfast buffet, dinner party, hotel, B&B or family celebration.
  • Offer it with fresh bread, butter and good coffee for a generous weekend breakfast or brunch.

Serving Tip

Cut only what you need, using a clean knife. The beeswax is entirely edible, with a soft, gently chewy texture that releases the honey held inside the cells. Enjoy it whole, or discard any remaining wax once the honey has dissolved.

Where Does It Come From?

Our raw acacia honeycomb comes from Váraljai's Honey Farm, a family-run apiary near Ásotthalom on the southern Great Hungarian Plain. Beekeeper László Váraljai keeps his own hives among acacia woodland, meadows and open countryside.

Each comb is carefully harvested from László's own acacia-honey frames, giving clear traceability from hive to table. Monika visits the farm and remains in regular contact with László, selecting his honey for its clean flavour, traditional handling and dependable provenance.

The same floral harvest is also enjoyed as our raw acacia honey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a whole honeycomb frame?

Yes. This is a complete wooden frame filled with raw acacia honeycomb, rather than cut pieces or a jar of honeycomb. It is ready for you to unwrap, cut and serve at home.

What is the difference between this and the standard Honeycomb Frame?

The honeycomb, full frame and generous 2.4kg size are the same. This version is presented in a handcrafted wooden gift box, making it especially suitable for gifting and special occasions. The standard Honeycomb Frame comes in simpler presentation packaging.

Is the wooden gift box handmade?

Yes. The wooden gift box is handcrafted by an artisan master carpenter. It provides a handsome presentation for the wrapped honeycomb frame and can be kept after the gift has been enjoyed.

Is the honeycomb edible?

Yes. Both the acacia honey and the natural beeswax comb are edible. The wax is soft and gently chewy, releasing honey as you eat it. You can swallow it or discard any remaining wax after the honey has dissolved.

Is this raw acacia honey?

Yes. The honeycomb is harvested in its natural form and contains raw, unpasteurised acacia honey. Nothing is added or blended in. Explore our wider raw honey collection for more distinctive floral honeys.

Is this suitable for corporate gifting?

Yes. Its generous size, whole-frame presentation and handcrafted wooden box make it an especially impressive executive food gift for clients, colleagues, business openings, events and premium hampers. It is also a memorable way to thank a host, mark a milestone or share something exceptional with a team.

How is this acacia honeycomb tested?

This Acacia Honeycomb has been independently analysed by QSI. The tested sample complied with the EU Honey Directive requirements and recorded a moisture content of 16.4%, an HMF value of 3.9mg/kg and diastase activity of 18.6 Schade units.

The HMF result is well below the 40mg/kg maximum applicable to honey, while the diastase result is consistent with fresh, carefully handled honey. Its fructose-to-glucose ratio was 1.52, consistent with the naturally slow crystallisation associated with acacia honey, and sucrose was just 0.1g/100g. View the independent QSI analysis.

Can I give acacia honeycomb to a baby?

No. Like all honey, it is not suitable for children under 12 months of age.
