Raw acacia honey with honeycomb combines golden, runny honey with a hand-cut piece of edible comb straight from the hive into a naturally delicious treat.

What Is Acacia Honey with Honeycomb?

This jar combines single-origin acacia honey with a hand-cut piece of raw honeycomb from the same acacia-honey harvest. The bees gather nectar from black locust blossoms (Robinia pseudoacacia), commonly known as acacia, creating a delicately floral honey with soft citrus notes and a clean, lingering sweetness.

The liquid honey is raw, coarsely filtered and unpasteurised, while the comb is left in its natural form. Together, they offer two textures in one jar: smooth, pourable acacia honey and soft, chewy, naturally edible beeswax comb filled with honey.

How to Use Acacia Honey with Honeycomb

This is a particularly lovely honey to serve simply, allowing both the delicate acacia flavour and the texture of the comb to shine.

  • Spoon over warm toast, crumpets, porridge, yoghurt, pancakes or fresh fruit, adding small pieces of honeycomb as you serve.
  • Place a piece of comb on a cheese board with Brie, Camembert or goat’s cheese, alongside walnuts and slices of pear or apple.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream, panna cotta or cheesecake for an effortless but elegant dessert.
  • Add a small spoonful to a grazing board with soft cheese, nuts, fruit and crackers.
  • Enjoy a piece of honeycomb straight from the jar as a naturally sweet treat.

Serving Tip

Use a clean spoon to lift out a small piece of comb, then drizzle the surrounding acacia honey over it. The beeswax is edible and can be chewed with the honey; you may swallow it or discard the remaining wax after you've enjoyed the honey.

Where Does It Come From?

Our raw acacia honey with honeycomb comes from Váraljai’s Honey Farm, a family-run apiary near Ásotthalom on the southern Great Hungarian Plain. Beekeeper László Váraljai keeps his own hives on his land in this landscape of forests, meadows and open countryside.

The comb is hand-cut from László’s own acacia-honey frames, then placed in the jar with the same acacia honey. This gives clear traceability from hive to jar and lets you enjoy the honey in one of its most natural forms.

Monika Gyenes visits the farm annually and remains in regular contact with László. She selected his honey for the Monika's Kitchen range for its clean flavour and clear provenance.

Can I give acacia honey with honeycomb to a baby?

No. Like all honey, it is not suitable for children under 12 months of age.

How is this acacia honey tested?

The liquid acacia honey used in this jar has been independently analysed by QSI. The tested sample complied with the EU Honey Directive requirements and recorded an HMF value of 18.5mg/kg, below the 40mg/kg maximum applicable to honey.

Its fructose-to-glucose ratio was 1.60, consistent with the naturally slow crystallisation and long-lasting runny texture associated with acacia honey. View the independent QSI analysis.
