Organic sea buckthorn juice is a bright, tart 100% pure fruit pulp made from hand-picked, cold-pressed raw Askola berries, ideal for drinks and smoothies.

What Is Organic Sea Buckthorn Juice?

Our organic sea buckthorn juice is made from whole ripe sea buckthorn berries, with nothing added. It has a vivid golden-orange colour, a naturally thick texture and a bold, citrus-like flavour with hints of pineapple and a gently earthy finish.

The berries are hand-picked and cold-pressed to retain their naturally tangy character. This is 100% organic sea buckthorn fruit pulp, with no added water, sugar, colours, flavours, preservatives or artificial ingredients.

Töviskertem uses the Askola variety, selected for its bright, clean flavour and gentler bitter finish compared with many other sea buckthorn varieties. The whole fruit pulp naturally settles over time.

Sea buckthorn juice is known as sok z rokitnika in Polish, which refers to juice from the same distinctive berries. Our version is a pure, unsweetened fruit pulp, ready to dilute into drinks or use in recipes.

How to Use Organic Sea Buckthorn Juice

Sea buckthorn fruit pulp is wonderfully zesty and concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Dilute it, blend it or use a small splash to bring vivid fruitiness and bright acidity to food.

• Dilute one part sea buckthorn fruit pulp with around ten parts still or sparkling water for a refreshing golden drink. Add a little raw honey if you prefer a softer sweetness.
• Blend into smoothies with banana, mango, apple or pear to balance its sharp, tropical character.
• Whisk a teaspoon into a vinaigrette for bitter leaves, roasted carrots, beetroot or grilled vegetables.
• Stir a small amount into yoghurt, porridge or overnight oats with fresh fruit and toasted nuts.
• Reduce gently with a little sugar to make a vivid coulis for panna cotta, cheesecake or vanilla ice cream.
• Make a sea buckthorn spritz by mixing a small measure with sparkling water, ice, fresh ginger and a little honey or apple juice.
• Add a splash to a mocktail or aperitif when you want bright citrus-like acidity and a striking golden-orange colour.

Cook's Tip

Shake the bottle vigorously before use, as the natural fruit pulp settles over time. Start with a small amount in drinks and recipes, then add more to taste: its tangy flavour is beautifully assertive.

Where Does It Come From?

Our organic sea buckthorn juice comes from Töviskertem, meaning "Garden of Thorns", a family-run farm near Szolnok on the Great Hungarian Plain. The farm sits on land connected with the former floodplains of the Tisza River, where a certified 3.46-hectare orchard of fertile alluvial soil supports its organic sea buckthorn cultivation.

Töviskertem is led by horticultural engineer Edit Schultz-Marinka, whose family connection to the land inspired her to establish the orchard. Edit and her family grow the Askola berries organically, then carefully prepare them into products that make the fruit easy to enjoy at home.
