Pure Tomato Paste & Concentrate

Pure Tomato Paste & Concentrate Made with 100% Tomatoes

Aranyfácán tomato paste and tomato concentrate are made with 100% tomatoes, bringing rich, clean tomato flavour to sauces, soups, stews and everyday cooking.

Pure Tomato Flavour, Nothing Unnecessary

These are straightforward tomato concentrates for cooks who want depth of flavour without added salt, sugar, preservatives or artificial flavours. The recipe is simply tomatoes, gently cooked down to create a smooth, richly coloured paste that lets you season your food exactly as you like.

Whether you are making a quick pasta sauce, a slow-cooked stew, pizza sauce or a warming soup, a spoonful adds natural tomato sweetness, colour and savoury depth without turning the dish into a ready-made sauce.

Aranyfácán is a trusted Hungarian tomato brand made in Hatvan since 1934. Known in Hungary as "Golden Pheasant", it has long been a familiar kitchen staple, valued for its simple recipe and dependable quality.

Chosen by Monika for Her Own Kitchen

Monika selected these Aranyfácán products for Best of Hungary for a very personal reason. Her mother used them when cooking family meals, and Monika continued to use them in her own kitchen in Hungary as an adult.

She knows the difference a good tomato concentrate makes: a fuller flavour, better colour and more rounded finish in the dishes she cooks. It is the sort of quiet, dependable ingredient that makes everyday food taste more considered.

Choose Your Tomato Concentrate

Everyday Tomato Concentrate: 15–17° Brix

Our Aranyfácán Tomato Concentrate is a smooth, versatile pure tomato paste with a concentration of 15–17° Brix. It has a rounded, naturally sweet tomato flavour that suits regular family cooking.

Supplied in a generous 360g resealable glass jar, it is particularly useful when you cook with tomato paste often. Add it to pasta sauces, soups, casseroles, pizza bases, curries, roasted vegetables and everyday meat or bean dishes.

Double Concentrated Tomato Purée: 22–24° Brix

Our Double Concentrated Tomato Purée has a concentration of 22–24° Brix. With less water and a thicker consistency, it delivers a more intense tomato flavour from a smaller spoonful.

Choose this double concentrate for rich ragù, shakshuka, slow-cooked sauces, marinades and hearty stews. Its compact 150g can is ideal when you want maximum tomato depth without opening a larger jar.

What Does Brix Mean in Tomato Paste?

Brix is a measure used to indicate the concentration of soluble solids in a product. In tomato paste, a higher Brix figure generally means less water, a thicker texture and a more concentrated tomato flavour.

The everyday Aranyfácán concentrate is 15–17° Brix for balanced, versatile cooking. The double concentrated purée is 22–24° Brix for recipes where you want fuller tomato intensity in a smaller amount.

How to Use Pure Tomato Paste

For the deepest flavour, cook tomato paste briefly with onion, garlic, oil or butter before adding stock, water or other ingredients. This helps its natural sugars develop and gives sauces and stews a richer, more rounded taste.

Use the concentrate for an easy tomato base, or use the double concentrate when you want a deeper, more powerful result. Both are excellent in pasta sauces, tomato soup, chilli, lentil dishes, casseroles and pizza sauces.

A Simple Cooking Tip

Stir one teaspoon of double concentrated tomato purée into onions and garlic before making a pasta sauce, soup or stew. Cook it for a minute or two, then add your liquid. It creates a richer tomato base without needing extra sugar or a heavily flavoured jarred sauce.

For Hungarian-inspired dishes, pair it with Hungarian paprika, our seasonings and Hungarian pasta.

A Hungarian Kitchen Classic

In Hungary, tomato concentrate is known as sűrített paradicsom. Aranyfácán sűrített paradicsom is one of the country’s best-known tomato products, used for generations in family recipes and everyday home cooking.

Its clean, tomato-only recipe makes it just as useful beyond Hungarian food. It is a reliable cupboard ingredient for anyone looking for pure tomato paste with no unnecessary additions.
