Lecsó is a Hungarian pepper stew, and this vegan base sauce is made by slowly cooking home-grown tomato and bell peppers according to a traditional recipe.
The Lecsó is ready to serve from the bottle. For an authentic experience, dice a medium brown onion and cook until translucent, then add the sauce, slices of Hungarian sausage (kolbász), and a couple of eggs and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes until all the flavours combine. Serve with fluffy white rice or tarhonya pasta.
