GERE Kopar 2022
GERE Kopar 2022 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Kopar is the flagship wine of the renowned Gere winery and the liquid signature of winemaker Andrea. This unique blend showcases the excellence of Villány.
Since its first vintage in 1997, Kopar has become a benchmark for Hungarian winemaking and is widely recognised as the country's first fine wine brand. It has been refined over the years, earning the highest accolades from industry professionals, wine enthusiasts, and connoisseurs worldwide.
Selected grapes from premier vineyards are harvested at different times to ensure optimal ripeness. Each batch is fermented and matured separately, and, like a jigsaw puzzle, winemaker Andrea Gere masterfully combines them according to the family's secret recipe to deliver a consistent and instantly recognisable flavour profile that is quintessentially Kopar.
In appearance, Kopar boasts a blackish-purple core with a burgundy-red rim. The nose presents refined aromas of toasted oak, black pepper, dark forest fruits, cigar box, and mineral notes. On the palate, it is full and complex, featuring flavours of dark forest fruits accompanied by exotic barrel spices that beautifully balance the rich tannins. While it is delightful to enjoy now, it will continue to improve over the next 10 to 15 years.
