Tasting Notes

Opulent and weighty nose of honey, mango, orange peel and forest mushrooms.  Having spent so long ageing in a barrel, it is highly recommended to give this Aszú some time to aerate, allowing the aromas to unfold. A palate rich in acacia blossoms, marmalade and passion fruit aromas. This is a well-balanced and concentrated sweet white wine, with a creamy texture and a long finish.

Food Pairing Recommendation

The ultimate dessert wine, perfect on its own or when partnered with cakes and patisserie, especially fruit cakes. It is also our recommended drink of choice to go with goose liver. To prepare a delicious cheese board, serve it with blue cheese including Gorgonzola, Stilton and Roquefort.

About the Winemaker

The Tokajicum Winery is situated in the historical wine region of Tokaj, renowned for its white wines, but especially its unique Late Harvest and Aszu dessert wines. The winery cultivates grapes on 20 hectares of prime location land, with vines that are 40 years or older, producing wines of real character with a high mineral content.
