What Is Stühmer Pistachio Szaloncukor?

Szaloncukor is one of Hungary’s best-loved Christmas traditions: individually wrapped chocolate pralines, traditionally hung from Christmas tree branches and enjoyed throughout the festive season.

This Stühmer selection contains three beautifully wrapped szaloncukor in each of five pistachio-led flavours. Its pistachio cream fillings range from smooth and marzipan-rich to crisp, salted and fruity, making it especially lovely for sharing.

The Five Pistachio Szaloncukor Flavours

This selection includes three pralines of each flavour:

• Milk chocolate with raspberry and pistachio cream
• Crunchy salted pistachio cream with milk chocolate

How to Enjoy and Hang Szaloncukor

Place the selection in a bowl with coffee after dinner, add it to a festive dessert table or put the box out when friends and family visit. The range of creamy, crunchy, salted, fruity and marzipan flavours makes it particularly good for sharing.

To decorate a tree in the traditional Hungarian way, tie a small loop of fine ribbon or thread around one twisted end of each wrapper, then hang the pralines from sturdy branches. Their green and gold foils look especially striking among warm lights, deep-green foliage and gold or red baubles.

Where Does It Come From?

These chocolates are made by Stühmer, one of Hungary’s most historic chocolate names. Frigyes Stühmer, a master confectioner from Hamburg, began making chocolates in Hungary in 1868, establishing a tradition of carefully made confectionery and distinctive presentation.
