An organic Soproni Kékfrankos from hand-harvested grapes, this elegant red wine from the cool-climate Sopron region is a rich and complex vintage.

A classic deep ruby hue with attractive purple shades. Zesty acidity and medium tannins with a cavalcade of red and black fruit on the palate, rounded out by spicy notes from the expert oak barrel ageing.

What is Kékfrankos?

Kékfrankos, also known as Blaufränkisch, is one of the principal Hungarian red varieties. This versatile grape is renowned for offering the perfect balance of elegance and complexity, featuring rich dark fruit flavours, subtle spice notes, and smooth tannins, ideal for crafting exciting single-varietal wines or used as the backbone in the legendary Bikavér blend.

While it is grown around the country, it feels especially at home in Sopron. Though the wine region is located at the northernmost border of viticulture, nearby Lake Fertő creates a unique micro-climate. This large body of water tempers the winter cold and eases the summer heat. When combined with a special terroir of mica schist, limestone and humus-rich forest soil, the area provides optimal growing conditions.

Soproni Kékfrankos is now internationally regarded as a premium quality red wine with a distinct flavour profile and plenty of ageing potential, offering wine lovers an authentic taste of Central Europe's viticultural excellence.

The cost of delivery for all orders under £60 is £2.95.

We ship orders using Royal Mail Tracked 24, which will take 1-2 days.
