What is it?

Zserbó is the most famous cake in Hungary and a must-have on dinner tables during festive occasions like Christmas and Easter. Swiss pastry chef Emil Gerbeaud, the owner of Café Gerbeaud in Budapest, created the original recipe.

Gerbeaud cake is made of layers of shortcrust pastry, filled with a delightful mixture of zesty apricot jam and freshly ground walnuts, and covered in premium-quality dark chocolate.

The finished pastry is deliciously soft on the inside, complemented by a satisfying crunch from the chocolate coating.
