LAJVER Szekszárdi Bikavér Premium 'Signum' 2020
The flagship premium Bikavér of Lajver Winery, this powerful Bull's Blood red wine from handpicked grapes embodies their vision of the Szekszárd region.
It combines a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with the native Kékfrankos and Kadarka varieties, creating an elegant, effortlessly cosmopolitan yet quintessentially Hungarian vintage.
An intense aroma of freshly brewed espresso and grated dark chocolate, accompanied by a fruitiness of blackberries and ripe raspberries. It is a full-bodied wine with supple tannins, a round mouthfeel, poised acidity, and resplendent dark berry notes rounded out by the tertiary flavours of sweet spices and toasted notes from the oak barrel ageing.
Food Pairing
A versatile red wine, it makes a perfect accompaniment for steaks, grilled meats and vegetables. For an authentic pairing, try with traditional Hungarian dishes like goulash soup, rich stews or a striking Baracskai semi-hard ash cheese.
