BEST OF HUNGARY Bull's Blood 'Celtic Friendship' 2020

£12.50

Order by 11am Monday for next day delivery.

Bull’s Blood is an iconic Hungarian red wine, and its stylish Welsh dragon label is perfect for celebrating the friendship between Wales and Hungary. We chose this special vintage from Szekszárd due to the area’s heritage, as Celtic tribes lived in the region from as early as the fifth century B.C.

The flagship bottle of the Sebestyén estate, made from a selection of their finest vineyards, this charismatic Szekszárdi Bikavér is an exceptional example of a contemporary take on this legendary blend. An aromatic vintage with a rich palate of juicy forest fruits and red cherries, this is a very food-friendly wine that is smooth with gentle tannins and refreshing acidity.

Sebestyén Winery, Szekszárd

The Sebestyén Winery's story started twenty-five years ago and is now a two-generation artisan family winery. They pay meticulous attention to even the smallest detail in the vineyards, and this is reflected in every drop. The aim is to harvest only the highest quality grapes, achieved by rigorous volume controls and hand-harvesting, so only the healthiest bunches are selected and picked for vinification. Believing that Bikavér wines are the single best expression of the Szekszárd wine region, great significance is attached to the individuality and character of local varieties like Kadarka, which form the backbone of the famed Bull's Blood unique to Hungary. It showcases the best of the wine region and brings an authentic taste of Szekszárd to Wales and beyond.
