What is it?
Costa Rican coffee is world-renowned for its exceptional quality, and its unique character comes from being grown at high altitudes in the country’s lush volcanic highlands around Alajuela, Naranjo and Lourdes.
The coffee cherries are cultivated at 1,550 meters above sea level, and the fertile volcanic soils, cool mountain climate and consistent rainfall allow them to gradually mature with a concentrated flavour profile.
The beans are hand-picked in complete harmony with nature, ensuring that only ripe ones are selected. They are then gently washed and expertly roasted in small batches using a time-honoured technique, allowing their authentic flavour to shine.
Guaranteeing an artisan bean-to-cup experience, it is a favourite among coffee lovers and connoisseurs who seek the best with every sip.
Brewing recommendations
- Grind the coffee beans fresh before brewing for maximum aroma.
- Use water just off the boil (89–93°C for filter coffee and 91–93.5°C for espresso).
- Adjust grind size for your brewing method: fine for espresso, medium for pour-over, coarse for French press.
- Pro Tip: These beans shine in a pour-over or AeroPress, where their clarity and brightness can be fully appreciated.
