GRÓF DEGENFELD Organic Tokaji Hárslevelű 2023
Hárslevelű is a native Tokaji grape prized for its distinctive floral aromatics. This elegant wine from a special volcanic terroir is an excellent example.
An inviting and beguiling sweet-floral aroma with mango notes and a hint of ripe pear. Full-bodied with a rounded yet distinct acidity, its dominant elderflower flavour is complemented by almond undertones and a vibrant mineral finish.
What is Hárslevelű?
The Hárslevelű variety is one of Hungary’s most celebrated white wine grapes. Its name means “linden leaf”, a nod to its characteristic aroma reminiscent of fragrant linden blossoms, which are traditionally accompanied by notes of acacia, honey, and ripe stone fruits.
Grown predominantly in the world-famous Tokaj wine region, Hárslevelű thrives in volcanic soils and a unique microclimate, playing a vital role in both dry and sweet wine styles, and it is even used to create a stylish orange wine. The grape is often blended with Furmint to develop complex, age-worthy wines.

Try as an aperitif, or pair with light mezze such as dips, roast vegetables or a delicious serving of brussels sprouts with a gourmet twist. It makes a good match for grilled poultry and pork, or serve it with fresh cheese.

Gróf Degenfeld Winery, Tokaj
In 1994, the Count Degenfeld family successfully revived its wine estate in the heart of the Tokaj wine region, ensuring that an over 150-year-old tradition lives on with the latest generation. Winemaking is closely intertwined with the family’s deep love and respect for nature; therefore, they have cultivated their vineyards organically since 2009. The family only work with native grapes best suited to the unique micro-climate, creating a range of single varietal wines with award-winning credentials. The bunches are hand-harvested and carefully vinified with minimal intervention. As a result, you are tasting an authentic drop of the volcanic Tokaj terroir with every sip you take.
