GRÓF DEGENFELD Organic Tokaji Muscat Blanc Off-Dry 2020

A friendly and approachable off-dry vintage (11.5g/l residual sugar) made from the indigenous Muscat Blanc grape, this is a beautiful example of this variety and a great introduction to aromatic white wine from Tokaj.

Expressive and exciting on the nose with flavours of elderflower, peach, white blossoms and green grape are singing together. The palate is refined with a defined core and refreshing citrus aroma. A delightful acidity and mineral nuances tie the wine together. It is like sunshine in a bottle.

Food Pairing

It would be an excellent pairing for Asian dishes. With its spice, prawn and Nam Jim dipping sauce would work very well, while lighter Indian dishes would pair with the floral aspects of the wine. You can also serve it with grilled poultry or fresh cheese.

Gróf Degenfeld Winery, Tokaj - Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)

In 1994 the Count Degenfeld family successfully revived its wine estate in the heart of the Tokaj wine region, ensuring that over 150-year-old tradition lives on with the latest generation. Winemaking was closely intertwined with the family’s deep love and respect for nature; therefore, they have cultivated their vineyards organically since 2009. The family only work with native grapes best suited to the unique micro-climate, creating a range of single varietal wines with award-winning credentials. The bunches are hand-harvested and carefully vinified with minimal intervention. As a result, you are tasting an authentic drop of the volcanic Tokaj terroir with every sip you take.
