Serve the liver with warm toast or a fresh brioche. You can create a carnival of flavours by adding some fruit chutney, as its light sweetness provides a mouth-watering counterpoint to the rich flavour of the foie gras.

For the best experience, place in the fridge for 10 minutes before serving and then dip the tin into hot water for a couple of seconds to ensure that the liver pâté easily slips out of the can.
