    Tasting Notes

The flagship wine of the Vesztergombi winery, this full-bodied red wine cuvée is a classic Bordeaux blend. It is made from fruit which is carefully hand-selected and only in years when its outstanding quality can be guaranteed. You are drawn in by a rich nose of plum and mulberry with hints of liquorice. The palate is charactersied by an intense fruity aroma with jammy undertones, rounded out by a perfectly balanced acidity and a long finish.

    Food Pairing Recommendation

It goes very well with Hungarian dishes including goulash soup, beef stew and lecso, as well as steak, lamb and semi-hard cheese including Cheddar and Red Leicester.

    Serving temperature: 14-16°C

    About the Winemaker

The Vesztergombi family can look back on a rich tradition of wine making in the region around Szekszárd. This scenic landscape, where the Danube river meanders between intertwined valleys, provides the perfect conditions for growing red grapes with character. The winery's was reborn in 1991, resurrecting the family tradition. Its first Bull's Blood was released in 1993, the year when its founder, Ferenc Vesztergombi was awarded the prestigious “Winemaker of the Year” title in Hungary, and since then it has created red wines that reflect this unique terroir.
