BALASSA Tokaji Furmint 2018 

   Combining the finest hand-picked grapes from four volcanic vineyards, this medium-bodied dry Furmint is a crisp wine reflecting the complexity of the Tokaj terroir. Refreshing, with a dynamic yet refined acidity and just a touch of oak. Fruity, intense nose shows some butterscotch and herbal notes of delicate acacia and camomile. Friendly, attractive palate with some nuttiness and salty minerality. Long finish of sweet spices and ripe fruits. A balanced, easy-going but seriously well-made wine. 

Food Pairing Recommendation

   A great accompaniment to poultry and seafood, or try with your Asian noodle bowl. Goes well with washed-rind cheeses such as Appenzeller, Linburger or Taleggio.

   The boutique Balassa winery was established in 2005 by Istvan Balassa in the historic Tokaj wine region. Right from the beginning, Istvan, a perfectionist, has been determined to produce only the highest-quality wines possible by maximising the potential of each vintage. It all starts with growing grapes of an outstanding quality, applying a rigorous approach to cultivation. Each wine is then created using artisanal wine-making methods, highlighting the unique characteristics of the grape, the vineyard and the terroir.

    PATRICIUS Tokaji Sparkling Brut 2015

       Méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine, this elegant vintage from Tokaj beautifully expresses the characteristics of the terroir. Created by the combination of three native varieties, the fruitiness from the Hárslevelű and Sárga Muskotály grapes is perfectly complemented by the Furmint's tight acidity and rounded out by the notes of bottle fermentation and ageing.

       This dry sparking wine is a great example of the virtues of the traditional style, making it the perfect choice for special occasions. It is also our recommend drink accompaniment to go along with our Great Taste Award winner Siberian Sturgeon Caviar, for a truly divine pairing.

       The family-owned Patricius Winery encompasses an 85-hectare estate with eight historic first-growth vineyards around the scenic village of Bodrogkisfalud in the heart of the Tokaj region. Based in a renovated old press house that is connected to a cutting-edge winery with an integrated gravity-flow system, Patricius is a perfect example of the coexistence of tradition and state-of-the-art technology in this World Heritage landscape. They draw on traditional values and centuries of local expertise and combine them with the Tokaj region’s unique character to create unique vintages which are in perfect harmony with nature.

    TOKAJICUM Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 2014

       Opulent and weighty nose of honey, mango, orange peel and forest mushrooms.  A palate rich in acacia blossoms, marmalade and passion fruit aromas. This is a well-balanced and concentrated sweet white wine, with a creamy texture and a long finish.

    Food Pairing Recommendation

       The ultimate dessert wine, perfect on its own or when partnered with cakes and patisserie, especially fruit cakes. It is also our recommended drink of choice to go with goose liver. To prepare a delicious cheese board, serve it with blue cheese including Gorgonzola, Stilton and Roquefort.

       The Tokajicum Winery is situated in the historical wine region of Tokaj, renowned for its white wines, but especially its unique Late Harvest and Aszu dessert wines. The winery cultivates grapes on 20 hectares of prime location land, with vines that are 40 years or older, producing wines of real character with a high mineral content.
