Kadarka is a native red wine grape, and many say it is the single grape with the greatest potential for making unique, terroir-driven wines in Hungary. This Kadarka Grand Superior showcases the best the variety has to offer.
Beautifully complex red wine with a clear ruby colour and almost off-dry in character due to the late harvest date. Strawberries, raspberries, red cherry and supporting notes of sweet spices come through on a silky smooth palate, rounded out by balanced acidity and finely grained tannins from the oak barrel ageing.

Meet the Winemaker
Thummerer Winery, Eger - Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)
The story of the Thummerer family winery started in 1984 when they bought their first vineyards in the Eger wine region. They now cultivate around 100 hectares, with a family member in charge of every key position. They are passionate about achieving the highest quality possible by blending tradition and modern methods, and this pursuit of excellence encompasses every step of the winemaking journey. The requirements of individual grape varieties are matched to the most optimal vineyards, and only the finest ripe berries are hand-harvested and expertly vinified. The wines are then aged in a cellar system carved into the volcanic mountainside, which provides the perfect conditions for developing vintages with a unique Eger character.
