Thummerer Winery, Eger - Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)
The story of the Thummerer family winery all started in 1984 when they bought their first vineyards in the Eger wine region. They now cultivate around 100 hectares, with a family member in charge of every key position. They are passionate about achieving the highest quality possible by blending tradition and modern methods, and this pursuit of excellence encompasses every step of the winemaking journey. The requirements of individual grape varieties are matched to the most optimal vineyards, and only the finest ripe berries are hand-harvested and expertly vinified. The wines are then aged in a cellar system carved into the volcanic mountainside, which provides the perfect conditions for developing vintages with a unique Eger character.
