Traditional pálinka made from the aromatic Irsai Oliver grape variety. The grapes are gently de-stemmed and then fermented on their skin, creating this speciality spirit with a rich fruity and floral taste.
Pálinka is the national drink of Hungary, renowned as the ‘queen of all fruit brandies’. It is made from only the ripest fruits, which are destoned and then fermented for 10-15 days, and then distilled. Finally, the pálinka is matured in wooden barrels which imbues it with additional flavour and colour.
Pálinka is recommended to be served at 18-23 Celsius to maximise its aroma and flavour.
Received 3* at the 2018 and 2021 Great Taste Award.
Comments from the Great Taste judges:
"Very aromatic, Muscat, lychee and Turkish delight on the nose. Layered, with fruit and rose petal characteristics. Soft yet firm, floral yet grapey - carries its abv brilliantly. Quite perfect and hugely enjoyable."
