Kreinbacher Estate's Öreg Tőkék Bora (Old Vines Selection) is created from the finest bunches, which are carefully hand-picked exclusively from old plantings of Welschriesling (Olaszrizling), Furmint and Hárslevelű. With roots reaching deep down into the unique volcanic soil of the Somló Hill, grapes from these vines have an intense, concentrated minerality that showcases the best of this special terroir.
A cool mineral character with hints of apricot and peach on the nose as well as a touch of salt. Deep and intense palate combines citrus fruits with some sweet spice from oak ageing and pronounced mineral, salty aromas and a complex acidity. With so much strength and minerality concentrated from the volcanic soil, this is a powerful vintage rounded out in a creamy finish with fresh mint notes.
Food pairing
Great as an aperitif, this wine also goes well with a chicken salad or grilled fish, as well as light pasta dishes. If you are preparing a cheese board then pair it with washed-rind cheese such as Appenzeller, Linburger or Taleggio.
