An exclusive selection of three kadarka from three award-winner wineries and three wine regions. Kadarka is a native red wine grape and some say it is the single grape with the greatest potential for making unique, terroir-driven wines in Hungary and it has been acclaimed as the 'Hungarian Pinot Noir'.

This selection includes a kadarka from the sandy Kunság region, one from the warm-climate region of Szekszárd, as well as a Kadarka Superior from the cool-climate of Eger, showcasing how the grape can adapt to various surroundings, while always reflecting that area and the particular growing conditions. 

FRITTMANN Kunsági Kadarka 2018

Light carnet red colour, intensely fruity nose packed with youthful, fresh aromas of cherries, sour cherries and spices. A lively, vivacious drink with a spicy palate of red berries complemented by moderate acidity and smooth, restrained tannins.

SZENT GAÁL Szekszárdi Kadarka 2019

Ruby coloured red wine specialty from the warm climate Szekszárd region of Hungary, made from hand-picked berries of the indigenous Kadarka grape. Light and crisp, with a lively and vibrant red fruit flavour, as cherry, raspberry and strawberry initially jump from the glass, rounded out by spicy notes characteristic of Kadarka. There is a stemmy earthiness to the wine, with a fine acidity.

Deep ruby colour. Intensely fruity, enticing nose dominated by raspberries and red cherries. Silky smooth palate with ripe tannins, well-integrated alcohol and balanced acidity. Flavours of raspberry leaf and cherries, and a long fruit finish.
