An exclusive selection of three kadarka wines from three award-winner wineries. Kadarka is a native red grape; some say it is the variety with the most significant potential for making unique, terroir-driven wines in Hungary. It is becoming known as the 'Hungarian Pinot Noir'.
This selection includes a kadarka from the sandy Kunság region and two from the cool climate and volcanic terroir of Eger, including a Kadarka Grand Superior made with grapes hand-harvested from a single vineyard. It showcases how the grape can adapt to various surroundings while always reflecting that area and the particular growing conditions.
FRITTMANN Kunsági Kadarka 2020
Kadarka is a native grape variety often called the 'Hungarian Pinot Noir' due to its similarity in its delicate nature and ability to create terroir-driven red wines.

A lively and vibrant character with a spicy palate of red berries complemented by moderate acidity and smooth, gentle tannins, this easy-drinking vintage is the perfect everyday wine.

TÓTH FERENC Egri Kadarka Siller 2020
Siller (pronounced Shiller) is a Hungarian and German speciality and is one of the oldest styles of pink wine. When making a siller, the grape skins are soaked in the juice slightly longer than with a rosé, hence its deeper colour and more concentrated texture. Essentially a crossover between a rosé and a light red; it is thus an ideal choice if you are looking for a 'rosé plus' with added depth and character yet the same easy-drinking nature.
A medium-bodied, youthful wine, pale ruby in colour and with a refreshing touch of fizz. Delicate aromas of sweet spices, honey and red fruits, especially strawberry and raspberry. The same mouthwatering fruit character dominates on the palate, with added notes of sour cherries and cranberries. Expect more chewiness and more substance than in a classic rosé.
