Olaszrizling, also known as Welschriesling, is one of Hungary’s most popular grape varieties. The characteristics of welschriesling are dependent on its terroir, with the resulting wines closely reflecting the minerality of the soil, so that you can almost 'taste the rocks'.

Medium-bodied dry white white, this vineyard selection Welschriesling is a dynamic wine of real character. An intense aroma of white-fleshed fruits, peach, apple, pear and herbs. White-fleshed and citrus fruits with a light saltiness on the palate, ending in a final flourish of sweet spices and almonds.

Goes very well with washed-rind cheese like Appenzeller, Linburger or Taleggio.

About the Winemaker
The family-run Figula Winery was established in 1993, with the vineyard on the south-eastern slopes overlooking the scenic Lake Balaton. On an estate of 30 hectares, winemaker Mihály Figula is cultivating indigenous grapes which are uniquely suited to the micro-climate, as well as universally popular varieties, to showcase the versatility of the region. His rigorous approach resulted in success at both the national and international stage, while Mihály was also awarded the prestigious “Winemaker of the Year” title in 2019.
