Bikavér or Bull's Blood in English, is a famous Hungarian red wine cuvée exclusive to the Eger and Szekszárd regions. An elegant and complex full-bodied dry red wine. This is a powerful vintage of deep ruby colour, with layered notes of cool mint and blackcurrant in the nose. A flavour of juicy forest fruit is accompanied by intense spices and ripe tannins, rounded out by a lively yet perfectly balanced acidity that makes for a smooth and velvety drink. Delicious already, but with great ageing potential.

It is the perfect drink accompaniment to Hungarian dishes including goulash soup, beef stew and lecso, as well as game dishes and lamb chops. It pairs very well with hard cheese like Grana Padano and Parmesan.
