This exclusive selection of three bikavér from three award-winner wineries  showcases the many faces of this quintessential Hungarian wine.

   Bikavér or Bull's Blood in English, is a famous Hungarian red wine cuvée exclusive to the Eger and Szekszárd regions. It can only be made by adhering to strict guidelines, yet this traditional terroir wine serves as the ruby red signature of each winemaker, living up to its legendary name. At least three local grape varieties are combined into a perfectly harmonious blend, creating a rich and fruity masterpiece with a tantalisingly complex mineral structure that only the best Bull's Blood can provide.


BOLYKI Egri Bikavér 'Bull's Blood' 2016

   A medium-bodied dry red wine, intensely concentrated with dark ruby colour. It has a core of dark, almost tarry fruit, elegant red cherry aroma and a hint of scrumptious chocolate. This velvety red has a lively acidity and a tight tannic structure, making it a well-rounded yet easy-drinking vintage.

       A medium-bodied red wine cuvée with a deep, ruby red colour. Fruity aromas of stone cherries and plum with a damson twist. It is refreshing on the palate, with notes of sour cherry and red fruits, followed by a long mineral finish. Its well-balanced acidity makes this an elegant and very satisfying lighter red wine, perfect for making an evening special.

            Full-bodied dry red wine cuvée, this single vineyard Bull's Blood from Hangács Cru is complex yet dynamic, showing the rustic character of the wine region with an elegant and exciting fruit flavour. Ripe fruits (blackberry and mulberry) in the nose, with earthy aromas of autumn leaves and forest floor. A well-structured and meaty wine.
