Winery: Béres Winery Estate location: Tokaj
Vineyards: Diókút Soil type: Volcanic Grape variety: Hárslevelű
Age of vine-stocks: 12 years Date of harvest: September
Vintage: A relatively mild winter was followed by an early, warm spring resulting in an early growing season. Summer was just right in terms of precipitation and sunshine, but the end of August and all of September were quite rainy. These conditions led to a vintage with cool characteristics and vivid acids.
Fermentation: Méthode traditionnelle Aging: 2 years in bottle
Alcohol content: 12.5% Acid content: 6.74g/l Residual sugar: 8.5g/l
A méthode traditionnelle Tokay dry champagne (sparkling wine) with a pale hay yellow hue. Appealing notes of apple and pear complemented by a classic yeast character. The aromas typical of Hárslevelű and the aromas associated with the méthode champenoise are beautifully melded. A firm beam of acidity enlivens the palate. This is an attractively light wine that exhibits notes of rich mousse, tree fruits, citrus and yeast aromas.
Food Pairing Recommendation
This dry sparking wine is a great example of the virtues of the traditional style making it the perfect choice for special occasions. It is also our recommend drink accompaniment to go along with our Siberian Sturgeon Caviar.
